BRINGING KIDS?
Here's What To Know
Kids doors open at 6:30 PM each night with dinner and games.
Check-in is up the stairs at the back of the courtyard — follow the signs that say Kids Conference!
Meals: Kids ages 2 and up will be provided dinner and snacks each night.
Wednesday: Pizza and Fruit
Thursday: Raising Kanes Chicken Strips with Chips and Fruit
Friday: Hot Dog on a Stick with fruit for Bigs and Mac and Cheese with fruit for Littles
Nursery families, please pack food for your child.
Dress Code: Kids will be worshipping, running, and moving — send them in active clothes and closed-toe shoes. For younger kids, we suggest bringing a blanket, pillow, or favorite stuffed animal for wind-down time.
Nursery: This space will be a calm environment for our youngest kiddos, equipped with places to sleep, play, and eat. This room is also directly connected to our parents lounge where there will be a live feed of conference, a separate area for breastfeeding and changing tables. We ask that if your child's schedule usually has them eating or being rocked to sleep during conference times that you come assist our team with those things and then slip back out to conference. This helps to ensure our team can continue to provide hands on care to all babies.
YOUTH
Check-in opens at 6:15 PM, right on the right-hand side of the courtyard. Students will dig into dinner together, play games, and even participate in activities like customizing their own conference notebooks before things kick off.
Then at 7:00 PM, they’ll head into sessions together, sitting as a youth section so they can experience HSC side by side.
PLAN YOUR VISIT
If you are joining us from out of town, here is some information to help you plan your days in the Los Angeles area.
-
Getting to Glendale is pretty simple, with a few great airport options depending on your budget and travel preferences.
Closest + easiest:
Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR) — our top recommendation. It’s the closest airport to both the HSC venue and Cathedral Highland Park, making arrival and departure super convenient.
Easy travel experience:
Long Beach Airport (LGB) — a smaller airport with a generally smooth and less hectic experience.
Most budget-friendly:
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) — often the most cost-effective option, though LA traffic can be… character-building.
Getting around
If you’re not renting a car, rideshare apps like Uber or Lyft will be your best friend for getting between the airport, hotel, and conference events. -
Glendale is a suburb of Los Angeles, which means you’ll be close to the conference while still having easy access to explore the city.
Recommended hotels:
The Glenmark, Glendale — We have a room block available here through May 17. It’s just a 5-minute drive from the HSC venue.
AC Hotel Pasadena — Another great option nearby, located in a walkable area with lots of restaurants and coffee shops.
Airbnb neighborhoods we recommend:
Glendale
Pasadena
Burbank
Eagle Rock
La Cañada Flintridge
La Crescenta-Montrose
These areas are all convenient, safe, and give you a good home base for conference weekend.
